Weber Genesis E-330 Liquid Propane Gas Grill – Weber Genesis E-330 Review

The Weber Genesis E-330 Liquid Propane Gas Grill has front mounted control knobs which is a different design to other gas grills. The control knobs have been moved from the side of the grill to the front panel. The purpose of doing this on the Weber Genesis E-330 is to achieve a better heat control. This also gives space by providing the Weber Genesis E-330 with two extra large stainless steel tables that assist in the convenience of grilling. The original cooking performance of the Weber Genesis E-330 has been retained.

The Genesis E-330 gas grill takes the cooking of steaks to near perfection due to a facility designed into the Weber Genesis E-330 called a Sear Station. This provides the perfect grilling environment and still give ample space on the grill. The heat output of the Weber Genesis E-330 is also maximised over the grilling area. This high powered sear burner designed with the Weber Genesis E-330 enables the heat to be increased to meet the demands of searing. The flush mounted side burner enables users to perform cooking in more than one area of the Weber Genesis E-330.

Weber Genesis E-330: Customer Reviews

The PROS:

  • The Weber Genesis E-330 is considered an excellent grill because of its good, old fashioned, reliable solid quality and looks and design.
  • For information before buying a Weber Genesis E-330 it is a good idea to download the assembly instructions and owner manual at the Weber website, under Gas Grills. Although these may be in small print, they will provide useful information for the Weber Genesis E-330 and how it is to be set up.
  • From the arrival of this grill to firing up the first flame was about two hours. Assembly steps for the Weber Genesis E-330 are not difficult, although there are quite a number of steps involved. There were some trivial aspects about the assembly of the Weber Genesis E-330 that could be improved.
  • The grill is fairly heavy, so requires care when lifting out. Although the Weber Genesis E-330 is tightly packed, it can be awkward to lift into the box to get components out.
  • The doors on the grill are very simple to install. Set the door on a pin in the front of the frame, use your finger to push down on a retracting pin on top of the door, and move it into place. That’s it. The instructions say to use a screwdriver in a slot in the back of the door to pull down on the spring under the pin. This is actually what you would do to remove the door.

The CONS:

  • The side tables on the Weber Genesis E-330 are stainless, and they were covered by a sheet of sticky protective material. Although it pulls off cleanly, it is a little hard to pull out of seams and corners.
  • There are two locking nuts on the Weber Genesis E-330 that are used when attaching the cookbox to the frame. The instructions show a flat nut. Putting the smaller, locking part of the nut facing into the cookbox seemed to be the correct way to do it.
  • The grease tray on the Weber Genesis E-330 slides into position on two rails, and securely drops into place. The instructions show some kind of spring clip that isn’t there on this model. It’s definitely not needed.
  • The included wrench with the Weber Genesis E-330 isn’t very useful, and a socket wrench works well.
  • The casters on the Weber Genesis E-330 work extraordinarily well. I literally rolled it across my wooden deck with one finger. It’s a good thing the front two lock, because I think it could move on a high wind day.
  • Ignition on the Weber Genesis E-330 is instant. With the first click of the igniter I had fire on any burner.
  • The instructions say 10-15 minutes to get to 500 degrees. On a 78 degree (26 C) day, with a good breeze blowing, and in the shade, it took 10 and 1/2 minutes to get there using the three main burners. There were a few, small wisps of smoke that smelled like hot paint.
